Bed Bugs Favourite Hangout
Filed Under Bed Bugs Info |
To get a better hint on where you can find these nasty little creatures, here’s a list of places you might want to have a look at:
1) Beds and sofa
Bed bugs love to stay close to the host; especially our resting places. The thing closest to you would be the thing they like most … imagine duvets, throws and fine warm blankets you have all over during cold winter nights. And obviously bed bugs love anything related to beds! (That’s how they got their name from, right?)
2) Crevices
Bed bugs have flat bodies that enable them to live in tiny cracks. What might only fit the edge of a credit card could simply fit a big happy bed bugs family!
3) Dark, shaded and hidden places
Bed bugs don’t really like to stay in the light during the day so mattress seams (do check for black fecal matter or reddish brown stain), interiors, bed frames, carpets, wooden hole, and furnitures around the sleeping area would be their escape. They also love staying in the shade when they are not feeding.
4) Behind, in and within household items
Don’t forget that bed bugs are deceivingly low-profile creatures. Settling behind baseboards, picture frames, in radios and phones, also within books and curtain folds are their favourite.
If one room or area has been infested by bed bugs, adjacent rooms or areas should also be checked out. It is always wise to have a thorough house search in case they’re found in any areas of your household.
