New Protection From Bed Bug Infestations

Filed Under Bed Bug News | Leave a Comment

We know how bad a bed bug infestation can do to our lives. Those who have suffered from the bites would find all possible way to prevent it from happening again, or to eliminate the bed bugs colony entirely. Luckily for us, there are companies out there that listen to our problems and have taken preventive measures to ensure that the bugs won’t give us anymore nightmares again.

Some companies like London Luxury LLC and Allergy Solutions Inc, have produced bedding and mattresses protective ‘barriers’ that would help to prevent bed bugs from creeping onto our beds

“Just a couple of years ago, it was a pest that not many people had seen. Now, virtually every pest control company that we’re in contact with is dealing with regular bed bug incidents,” said Greg Baumann, vice president of Technical Services for the National Pest Management Association.

Because bed bugs are primarily associated with mattresses, some companies are now designing protective products for bedding. London Luxury LLC has just introduced a collection of “bedbug barrier bedding,” mattress and pillow protectors, available through Bed Bath & Beyond.

Allergy Solutions Inc. also sells mattress encasements, as do Protect-A-Bed and National Allergy Supply’s Bedcare line. The Harvard School of Public Health says any encasement that is used for protection from the dust mite is sufficient for much larger bed bugs.

Hopefully this is the answer to our miseries all this while. But this is just one of the solution. Other preventive actions have to be taken by us to further ensure our households are free from this nasty creature. Until then, check out these new bedding products for your extra bedding protection.

Bed bugs can infest not just your households but also hotels and other places of living. If you’re a hotel owner you’ve gotta make sure that your hotel is free from bed bugs. Otherwise, you might get sued from a frustrated customer, like this lady just did

Kimberly Deroche, 38, said she checked into a Rodeway Inn International on International Drive and woke up the next morning covered in bedbug bites.

“I’m going to have them for the rest of my life,” Deroche said. “I don’t wear shorts and I don’t wear bathing suits because people will have questions.”Because of the scars and sores — which she showed in photos taken during her hotel stay in 2006 — she has filed a lawsuit in Orlando circuit court.

Wherever you go, it’s important to check for any bed bugs infestation. Make sure you know what do bed bugs look like, or else you don’t even realize that you’ve been bitten, thinking that it’s just a normal insect bite.
